The India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre provides an ecosystem of open innovation through which start-ups and the healthcare delivery stakeholders collaborate and address current and future challenges in the healthcare sector in India.

Spirit of the India - Sweden Partnership for a sustainable future

This is a tripartite collaboration between the Swedish Trade Commissioner’s Office, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (AIIMS Delhi) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur (AIIMS Jodhpur), including knowledge partners such as AstraZeneca. This collaboration has been signed under the umbrella of the India Sweden Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in health and public health which was agreed between the countries in 2009.

MILESTONE

India and Sweden signed a MoU for collaboration in the field of healthcare and public health.

Joint Working Group (JWG) was created focused on creating new partnerships within the public, private and academic sectors

A Joint Declaration on Innovation Partnership for a Sustainable Future was created to deepen bilateral collaboration in the field of Innovation during Indian Prime Minster Mr. Narendra Modi’s visit to Sweden.

Signing and launch of India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre in the presence of the Honourable Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Health and Family and Welfare, Government of India, and State Secretary Dr. Maja Fjaestad, Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, Government of Sweden.

This collaboration is built on the quadruple-helix model with the active participation of government, academia, private enterprises and civil society. The broad vision of the collaboration is to strengthen the healthcare delivery system by an outcome and result-based approach

This year marks 10 years of India-Sweden cooperation in healthcare. And today, AIIMS Delhi, AIIMS Jodhpur, and Swedish Trade Commissioner's Office in Delhi joined hands to set up a healthcare innovation centre
