Brief overview Of Live CoE

To innovate on new models of working with healthcare a Live Centre of Excellence is created under India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre. Live COE is built on Swedish quadruple helix model of innovation that refers to interactions between academia, industry, government and civil society, to nurture innovation and deliver on new ways of working. Through this model, we will enable development and piloting of protocols, processes and technology and showcase innovation in healthcare delivery and potential benefits of working in certain delivery models.

As part of the Live CoE, two projects are initiated

  • Comprehensive Cancer Patient Support Service is launched in AIIMS Jodhpur campus to deliver best in class treatment to cancer patients
  • Tumor Specific Electroporation Study to monitor the effectiveness of TSE technology in cancer patient treatments

Background

Globally and in India, cancer patients arrive hospital at an advanced stage where it becomes inoperable. There is poor of awareness of signs/ symptoms among the patients and also a lack of access to right diagnostics for early and accurate diagnosis. However, there is a scope to improve quality of life and putting patient at the centre of care. The patients and the family have to undergo physical, emotional, and financial burdens for many during such a challenging time. There is a need to guide the patients by helping them understand the treatment, provide holistic treatment, support through counselling, increase treatment adherence, and improve health outcomes.
